Generally, with a period of time, the tooth enamel gets covered with a layer of protein which is clear and colourless. First of all, it is important to clean your teeth well with good toothpaste and by using an electric toothbrush. If your teeth have started getting stained and there is a lot of plaque formation, do not use any pressure while brushing your teeth, because that will destroy the gums as well as the enamel. Instead, make use of an electric toothbrush correctly, so that there is no pressure on your teeth, but it gets cleaned.
Toothpastes should not contain abrasives, because they scratch the teeth, even though the stains and plaque are removed. The abrasives may remove your tooth enamel as well, which cannot be replaced. Your teeth become sensitive and your smile gets completely ruined.
Whitening toothpaste has a whitening agent which is called calprox. Along with baking soda it helps to dissolve the protein layer and removes the plaque and all the stains with it. So your teeth sparkle and when you smile, it is a fresh clean smile. You can use this toothpaste alternatively with the normal fluoride toothpaste that you and your family use everyday.
